About us

Volta wallet is invented and run by 3 friends, Chris, George and Gregor, as is the Irish way each of us now lives in three different countries, but are bound by our commitment to the mission of building Volta Wallet. Back at the start of 2025, we had a great conversation in a pub as many great conversations typically begin. We spoke about the shift to a cashless future, we mostly welcomed it, no longer would we have to carry lots of stuff in our pockets anymore. However we were carrying less, but it didn’t feel like it. Our wallets were still big and bulky, designed for storage capacity no longer needed. Just getting rid of our wallets was the first thought, but this is not viable as we knew we still needed to carry some cards and some cash. Our next thought was to make a wallet that. 153 prototypes later, we invented the Volta wallet. We loved it. Our next challenge was figuring out how to manufacture it in the Republic of Ireland. Now our challenge is getting a Volta wallet in more people’s hands and making pockets all around the world less cluttered.
